Auraglow
Color through material
Designed within a lighting-design course, Auraglow explores an alternative approach to coloured illumination. Responding to the ubiquity of coloured LED lighting as a decorative effect, the project asks how atmosphere can be created through materiality rather than technology. Built from clear acrylic and wood, a simple rectangular form elevated on a central support, its character is changed not at the source but through interchangeable coloured acrylic panels, added or removed via a custom acrylic connector. As light passes through these layers, its colour and mood transform naturally through the material, while the white light source stays constant.
